Senior: I had a wonderful experience in High School. With a smaller student-to-teacher ratio, teachers were more accessible to answer questions of any kind. Students are responsible for their own education of the Arts, Music, and Sports.
That left more time for focusing on academics. The school put tremendous focus on AP and Dual Credit courses. Students and Teachers were really friendly and showed empathy towards each other.
I would recommend HSI-Katy to anyone! Read 29 reviews. Students are responsible for their own education Alum: Great school for getting college credits and making future schooling more affordable. Almost all college expenses while you attend are free, essentially getting your Associates degree for free. However, they are a lot stricter on dress code than most schools to the point students should just wear uniforms because it is so hard to find clothes to wear.
There are not many things to do to stimulate your brain, you just have to sit in the same room and look at your book. Although you are a student of the college on campus, you are not allowed to enter unless otherwise instructed. I found the students tried rebelling because of the lack of freedom, even during lunch hours you are only allowed to be in one place. Read 71 reviews. Regis is grounded in their mission to live out the goals and criteria of a Sacred Heart education: Faith, Intellect, Service, Community, and Maturity.
Through a wholistic and loving approach, Regis walks the walk every day with these boys and delivers on their promise: to shape boys into scholars and gentlemen, with intellect, integrity and honor. When we came to Regis, we were welcomed with open arms. Regis truly reached into the heart and soul of our son and brought out his best. His confidence soared, his belief in himself blossomed, and his compassion towards others really grew.
We thank God every day for putting Regis in our path, and we thank Regis for molding him into a true scholar and gentleman that is ready for high school! Read 31 reviews. While elective choices are very limited, theater, art, dance, and choir provide students an artistic outlet. There are a variety of academic and non-academic clubs, as well as four language choices French, Italian, Spanish, and Mandarin. The school is fairly small and the community is tight-knit and welcoming.
The administration is strict but the teachers are well educated and care about their students. As stated before, the courses are very difficult and require a lot of writing and time management skills, but midterm and final exemptions are granted generously to make up for it. The education was great and I from what I personally experienced, it appears that teachers and administrators gather student’s opinions and criticism to further the school learning environment and methods of teaching. In additions, teachers were very supportive and guiding towards students who required guidance let it be life out of school or the class itself. I would also like to talk about certain points that HSA could improve on which is food and resources specifically. For the food, there weren’t many options and in some cases, there was once milk that was rotting.
Though these cases happened at most 2 times a year, I believe that HSA finding better food options for the students would improve this section. As for the resources, from what I see, they could improve on learning resources like smartboards. Ischool High at the Woodlands offers incredible opportunities like taking college classes for free while in high school. The high school campus is located inside of the Lone Star Montgomery college campus.
This school will make you feel welcomed and cared for by their amazing staff. The teachers at this school go above and beyond to help students achieve their academic goals. Alongside their dual credit, Ischool High at the Woodlands sets the bar high. This grade standard has helped students to excel in their academic abilities by lighting a fire in them to work hard and prepare to the very best of their abilities for good grades.
Besides academics, this school offers many clubs for students to express themselves in. I would highly recommend this school. Read 53 reviews. Featured Review: Junior says Ischool High at the Woodlands is an amazing dual credit high school program.
Ischool High at the Woodlands This school also doesn’t take students from the district, but actually all over Houston. This allows for different opinions and ideas of certain topics to be discussed between the students openly. This school also has a strict ‘no-bullying’ policy and that is seen in the interactions between student and teacher as every teacher in this school tries to have a connection with the students.
Since this school is quite small, the ratio of student to teacher is small as well, leading to a well-knit community in this school. This school also doesn’t take students from the district, Alum: I truly enjoyed my very long 12 years at this school. The environment was welcoming and so close-knit. The students were friendly to others majority of the time as there was never any bullying all throughout my experience.
The academics were fairly good with a demonstrated passion for helping students reach their goals by the teachers and faculty.

It’s such an energetic and joyful atmosphere. I could not ask for a better learning environment for them.
They use the whole-brain teaching method, which is is really fun and engaging. I would have loved learning that way in school. They also focus on soft skills, and it’s amazing to see the change in my two elementary schoolers. Everyone is so kind, and the teachers and staff really care about the success, safety and well-being of the students.

Also, the small school environment helps everyone get to know each other easily, which makes students feel more comfortable at school. Additionally, I like how I have not seen anybody physically fighting, drinking, taking drugs, or smoking at this school. Some things I would like to see changed is transportation. Kids who live in nearby neighborhoods should have a way to safely walk or bike to school. If this can happen, students have a way to go home easier after sports practice or their club meeting.
Additionally, more funding needs to go to hiring more teachers or building more classrooms so students can have more electives to pick from and can potentially help them decide what career path is best for them. Lastly, the school should put more time and effort in helping students become more college ready.
