The entirety of the course is unpaved and consists of hard packed dirt. Regular road running shoes work great. There a total of 5 aid stations along the course. Aid stations are miles apart.

The tiny little cups that are used for an instant generate tremendous amounts of garbage. We recommend you purchase a handheld bottle, a hydration pack , or we can provide you with a small re-useable cup that folds easily into your waistband to use during the entire race and future races. Chartered school buses, aka shuttles, will run from the finish to the start line on race day morning. We suggest you board a shuttle about 45 minutes before your wave start.
Awards Awards will be given to the top 3 overall men and women. We will also have age group awards in 10 year increments.
This is the finish line of the race. Start line parking is highly discouraged. It is very congested and you would need someone to drive you back to the start as shuttles will not be running post-race. This is a fast and flat course ideal for beating your personal best time. The course is primarily rural and transects through the Skagit Valley. Starting at the Burlington Edison High School, the half marathon travels along rural but paved roadways and is a turnaround course which finishes back at the high school.
The half marathon course follows the same path of the full marathon course but with an earlier turnaround position.

Ther e were lots of volunteers at each water station. The course was well marked, and although the race is run on open streets, they did a good job of directing traffic around the runners.
A special thank you to all the volunteers who kept us fueled and hydrated and especially the incredible lead female cyclist in the marathon. I will recommend your event to all of my friends! The half marathon offers live bands and a party like atmosphere from start to finish, with post-race festivities and concert at the finish line. The half marathon is typically held in June so you can expect mild to warm temperatures. The course meanders through downtown Seattle on paved roadways, highways and tunnels, with scenic views of Lake Washington.
The course offers hilly and very flat variability with an extremely challenging peak at the 11 mile mark; a ft rise over less than half a mile. The half marathon course has a time limit of 6 hours. The marathon is held both days so runners have the option to run on Saturday or Sunday. There is also a half marathon offered.
